Upon return from their expeditions across the country, the cameleers often lived in camel camps near town. Look at the slideshow and talk about the cameleers’ Muslim beliefs.

At first, the cameleers and their camels were welcomed here.  Later they were sometimes treated unfairly and their camels became pests.

Look at the cameleers’ exemption certificates. Talk about why they had to be photographed and make a handprint.

Investigate events that happened overseas and here in Australia that made some people suspicious of the cameleers?
