Biography

(b. Peshawar; d. 17 Oct. 1939). Cameleer, hawker. 'An Afghan of distinguished appearance' (Fuller 1975, p. 2). He worked with a van pulled by four camels along the Birdsville Track. Lived in Pt Hedland, W.A., 1905-1906. Contributed to costs of Perth mosque (Blakeman 1971; Musakhan 1932, pp. 19-22). Named on Cameleers' Memorial, Alice Springs, N.T. (Rajkowski 1987, p. 81). Buried in Alice Springs cemetery.
