(b. Kandahar, d. 21 Nov. 1961). Cameleer and hawker operating out of Oodnadatta, Farina and Marree, along the Birdsville and Strzelecki tracks, c. 1910-1930. Freighted goods by train from Adelaide to Farina, then carried loading by camel string to stations along Strzelecki Track, as far as Nappamerrie Station, Qld. Returned with bales of wool to Farina. His surviving dockets and correspondence have been preserved (Rajkowski 1987, p. 152; this volume). On trial in 1913 for killing camel belonging to another cameleer, KABOOL, at Oodnadatta (Advertiser 16 Oct 1913, p.15). Owned 4 camels at Farina, S.A. and was among 13 signatories to 1927 petition against introduction of camel licence fees at Farina (S.A. Dept of Lands docket, 1927/840). Buried in Alice Springs cemetery.
