Biography

Afghan. Cameleer, participant in W.C. Gosse's expedition, 1873. Gosse named Allanah's Hill (28 miles south-west of Ayers Rock, N.T.) after him (Donovan, 1988, p. 55; Stevens 1989, pp. 39-40, 331). Probably ALANNA (= MAWLANA), a cameleer employed by FAIZ and TAJ MUHAMMAD, 1892.
