Biography

Camel owner and hawker, based at Port Augusta. Became lost and died of thirst while traversing country with camels near Tarcoola, S.A., January 1906. Body found 20 miles from Childara Waterhole, camels located at Dog Fence near Glenloth (Advertiser 26 Jan 1906, p.6). Resultant sale of effects included '6 superior bull camels, 12 24-gallon casks' and 'drapery, including dress material, smoking caps, ladies' wrappers, dresses, blouses and a host of sundries' (Advertiser 27 Mar 1906, p.1).
