Horn Scientific Exploration Expedition, 1894
The Horn Scientific Exploration Expedition was the first Australian expedition to be composed mainly of scientists. Together, these museum- based specialists undertook a detailed examination of the MacDonnell Ranges – its geology, zoology, botany and ethnography. The Marree cameleers Moosha and Guzzie Balooch had charge of the camels, and ensured that the expedition’s specimens were brought safely to the Oodnadatta railhead.
